...said the spider to the fly.
So the L.A. Zoo has this AWESOME new Spider-City exhibit. The decor & design of the exhibit is done up like comic-book style fonts and they designed all of the displays like comic book city buildings. It's pretty sweet. But not as sweet as the photo-op outside:
Also awesome: the new Gorilla Exhibit. I tell ya, the upgrades that the LA Zoo has made since we moved here in 2004 is phenomenal. Plus, there's churros. And glazed almonds. Lots of them. And churros.
Vehicular Upgrades
I have been driving used cars my entire life. Driving them until they die. Aaaaaand I'm over it. Don't get me wrong, my 'bu has been a good car, but now that it's paid off, I don't really want to keep paying for annual tweaks on it, fixing old tubes/belts/AC etc. It's probably about time to get new brakes, too, so I'm out.
Because 90% of our driving tends to be in-city, we've been looking at hybrid vehicles, namely the Toyota Prius...
and the Ford Escape. Not that I need an SUV for off-roading or anything, but I am tired of trying to squeeze furniture and other random payloads into the back of my Malibu, and I don't want another truck.
Plus they have goodies like navigation, satellite radio, power outlets, etc. Which is pretty sweet. The option to have oil-slicks, smoke-screen and rocket launchers added on isn't too bad price-wise, but the cost of the ammo & refills is what adds up real quick. I'll probably pass on those.
Snake-Eyes/Deadpool/Joker/Punisher news!
I've been a tad lazy this week, work has slowed a little and my brain has tried to switch itself off. Fine by me.
Anyway!
Here's some pretty sweet entertainment news!
Ray Park has INDEED been cast as Snake-Eyes! So I'm 1 for 2 so far, as Sienna Miller was cast as The Baroness. Here were my original hopes and dreams.
Looks like Deadpool will be providing the comic-relief in the Weapon X origin flick coming up. Rumor also has it that Gerard Butler is being wooed to play Sabretooth, which would be pretty sweet.
That's just too cool for school, right there.
Here's the first pic of the new Punisher. I'm told Ray Stevenson is awesome in HBO's ROME, and maybe he is, I haven't had time to watch it yet. In the meantime, I have to ask, "Isn't that Steven Seagal?".
