These two scientific research studies explain a LOT about our current political problems.

Hard-core Conservatives are fearful (Ban it, bomb it):
Turns out, when shown a bunch of scary images, people with conservative values tend to clench up a lot more than liberals.

Hard-core Conservatives can't think on their feet (stay the course):
Apparently, knee-jerk reactions come pretty easy for them. Then again, this particular test might have been flawed since liberals would probably have flinched at the letter 'W'.
